Around this time one year ago, the Diamondbacks were on top of the world.
On October 24, 2023, Corbin Carroll secured a lazy Jake Cave fly ball that sent them to the World Series.

To say that no one expected them to make it would be an understatement. Few expected them to make the postseason, much less make a deep run. At every turn, they did just enough to stay afloat (until the World Series, that is).
