The Diamondbacks had another incredible 1st inning, hitting back-to-back-to-back jacks and scoring five runs against the Pirates early. But Brandon Pfaadt seemed to run out of gas and the bullpen had a bit of a meltdown, allowing the Pirates to comeback and take the lead. Eventually, the Snakes got hot again thanks to multi-homer nights from Ketel Marte and Josh Bell and managed to win a close one without Paul Sewald’s services. We have more on the back and forth affair, the offense coming up big when the bullpen couldn’t, and Bell hitting two home runs in his D-backs debut.
