At Phoenix Suns Media Day and so far in training camp, the team has talked about wanting to hit the ground running. The question is, will continuity, offseason workouts and coach Mike Budenholzer enable them to get off to a fast start?
On the latest PHNX Suns Podcast, Gerald Bourguet is joined by Stephen Pridgeon-Garner and Brendon Kleen of the Locked On Suns Podcast to give their thoughts. The Suns obviously have more continuity than last year, plus a few new pieces that should complement their Big 3 of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal pretty well.
So will all of that help them to get off to a fast start and rack up wins? Will different defensive principles, playing faster and getting up more 3s in coach Bud’s system help them play with more of an identity from Day 1? And what specifically have we heard from Suns Media Day and the first two days of training camp that is encouraging on that front?
Plus, Kevin Durant gave his thoughts on the Suns wanting to take more 3-pointers this year vs. still getting to his spots in the midrange, and the Valley Suns gave the first look at their G League jerseys, complete with a partnership patch with Goodwill.
