Phoenix Rising set to enter U.S. Open Cup in third round

It’s official. After Phoenix Rising leaked the 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup format last week, U.S. Soccer has confirmed that Phoenix Rising will enter the competition in the third round alongside 15 other USL Championship sides. Should they win, they will face one of the 16 Major League Soccer teams that are set to participate this season.

Plus, the team adds to the strikeforce, with Ihsan Sacko joining up top to provide competition for Remi Cabral.
