It was the winter of 1999 and Randy Johnson had a big decision to make. The Big Unit was entering free agency as the most coveted free agent on the market and had no shortage of suitors.

Between the Los Angeles Dodgers, Anaheim Angels, Houston Astros and Texas Rangers, Johnson had every opportunity to make life changing money.

But the newly minted Arizona Diamondbacks coming off their inaugural season in 1998 were looking to make a big splash and then managing partner Jerry Colangelo.

Well the Diamondbacks were convincing enough and the rest was history! Johnson signed with Arizona and it changed EVERYTHING.
