What a night to be an Arizona Wildcat!
Arizona Basketball shocked the nation tonight in Vegas by defeating the reigning National Champion (and currently #3) Florida Gators.
The Cats were led by freshmen phenom Koa Peat who announced himself to America with a record-breaking debut. Peat became the first Big 12 player in conference history to drop 30 points and 5 assists in their debut. Peat showed he is a real All-American candidate (as we’ve been saying).
Point guard Jaden Bradley added a career-high 27-points hitting big bucket after big bucket down the stretch. The Arizona senior showed college basketball fans and pundits alike that he was criminally underrated all offseason. His coach agrees:
Arizona takeaways + more
It wasn’t the greatest of debuts for Florida transfers Boogie Fland and Xaivian Lee, but returners Alex Condon and Thomas Haugh kept the Gators in it.
Is this Tommy Lloyd best team yet in Tucson? Is Koa Peat the best Wildcat freshmen since Aaron Gordon? How far can this team go in the NCAA Tournament?
PLUS what do the Wildcats need to clean up before Friday’s matchup with Utah Tech?
