Arizona Adds 5-Star Recruit Caleb Holt for 2026 Class

The Arizona Wildcats landed a commitment from top-five 2026 recruit Caleb Holt. Holt is a 6-foot-5 combo guard with a 6-foot-9 wingspan. Holt chose the Wildcats over Alabama, Houston, Kentucky, Providence and others. This is the second recruit for Arizona’s 2026 class. Holt joins four-star Cameron Holmes.

Holt plays for Prolific Prep, the same school that produced Darryn Peterson, Gary Trent Jr. Aden Holloway, Tre Lewis and more. He is a 3-level scorer who has won two gold medals with Wildcats head coach Tommy Lloyd.

Caleb Holt’s a winner

In the 2025 FIBA Basketball World Cup, Holt won a gold medal averaging 10 points per game shooting 57.45% from the field (27-47) and 52% from three (13-25). He added 3.4 rebounds per game and 2.1 assists per game in seven games played.

Holt takes pride in his defense, putting up 2.7 steals per game in the competition and is adept at playing passing lanes using his athleticism and wingspan.

Holt’s fit at Arizona

Arizona fans should be looking forward to Holt’s arrival as he is a shoe-in for the Brayden Burries role once Burries graduates to the NBA this off-season. Holt offers much of the same appeal as Burries.

His ability to score the ball combined with his size and physicality makes him the perfect guard for the Big 12. Holt seeks contact when getting downhill and looks to drive the ball often.

With the likely departure of Burries, Peat, Awaka, Bradley and the potential departures of Krivas and Kharchenkov, Arizona has minutes to fill. Holt is a player that can be trusted to play heavy minutes next season.

His ability to move off the ball also shows he can play alongside almost any point guard Arizona decides to bring in to replace Jaden Bradley.

Holt’s Moment

Holt announced his commitment on ESPN’s First Take alongside Stephen A. Smith and Kendrick Perkins. When the moment arrived, Holt thanked his family (who he brought on to the set with him), pulled back the flaps of his leather jacket and revealed a white shirt with “Arizona” in bright red letters across the chest.

He was then peppered with questions about his game and what he brings to Arizona. Holt responded that Tucson is getting a “dog,” and that he will contribute high level shooting, showcase his midrange game as well as his ability to finish over opponents at the rim (he shoots 68% at the rim).
