Things have gone from bad to worse for the Phoenix Mercury, who have fallen to 8-18 on the season with a 96-83 loss to the Connecticut Sun Friday.

Making matters worse is that Friday marked the Mercury’s fifth consecutive loss and the team cannot find the answers it is in search of.

Phoenix was led by 21 points from Kahleah Copper while Alyssa Thomas added 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting, but Connecticut’s Leila Lacan was the difference in the game.

The second-year guard went off for a game-high 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting and also pulled down four rebounds and dished out five assists.
