Mercury Overpowered in 14-point loss to Dream

The Phoenix Mercury fell to 1-1 on their current five-game trip as they were overpowered by the Atlanta Dream in a 96-82 loss.

Phoenix never led in the game and trailed by as many as 20 points in a game where Kelsey Plum saw her first start in a Mercury uniform. The Dream used their size advantage to win the rebounding battle, 38-28, and Angel Reese turned in yet another double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

More than on the interior, the Dream sank 14 3s, outscoring the Mercury by 21 points from beyond the arc. Phoenix was led by Plum’s 19 points while DeWanna Bonner turned in a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
