That’s been the theme for Phoenix Rising over the past week as move after move has taken place.

Coming in? Ascel Essengue returns to the team after a loan spell in 2025 from LA Galaxy. But after Juan David Torres’ arrival a week prior, he’s the only new addition to this squad, albeit with players such as Damian Rivera and Kelvin Arase returning from injury.

But going out? Gilberto Rivera was recalled by his parent club in Houston, and Aleksandar Vukovic has gone out on loan to Fort Wayne. But the most notable move? Charlie Dennis departing the club on loan to play for rival New Mexico United.

The fans clearly aren’t happy about that, but what could it mean for Phoenix Rising’s season, and the future for Bobby Dulle, Brandon McCarthy and Pa-Modou Kah?
