The Phoenix Suns earned their first win of the preseason over the weekend, using a big first half to power their way to a 102-98 decision over the San Antonio Spurs.

Suns’ Win Over Spurs Big Step For Maluach, Kennard

With Devin Booker and Miles Bridges sidelined, it was Luke Kennard and Khaman Maluach who were inserted into the starting lineup and both made the most of the call.

Between Maluach’s double-double and Kennard’s game-high 20 points, Suns fans were given plenty to be excited about.

Jalen Green also had an efficient night in which he put his playmaking skills on display, yet another encouraging sign for this team. It’s just one preseason game, but there’s plenty to be taken from it.

PHNX Suns’ Gil, Stephen and Aryton revisit Saturday’s game through the lens of what they saw from both Maluach and Kennard, spinning things forward to what it means in the big picture as well.
