Just for the record: over the weekend I flipped a coin over 1300 times to have a coin predict the NHL season. I’m still tallying up the results to figure out the rankings…but the coin is predicting AZ to finish with 89 total points.

Cheers to the season of pain

Totally excited about this season. I expect the team to be hard on the puck, have a net front presence, and score a lot of garbage goals because of their hard work. Don’t see them backing down from a fight, and expect great leadership from Ladd and Erickson. Roussel will continue to be one of the nastiest players in the league, but he will be on our side. Hope they are able to fulfill Kessel’s wish, and trade him ASAP. Looking forward to Guenther’s 9 game tryout this year, and Vejmelka winning the goalie job. Surprised they didn’t pick up Logan Brown or Michael Kempny when they were waived. Maybe Lou will send us Bellows for that conditional 3rd he owes us. Go Yotes! Haven’t been this excited since they got Benning to swallow OEL’s albatross contract.

Think there’s any chance the Coyotes kick the tires on Eichel? You’ve got to think his value is going to continue to drop as this drags further into the season, not that the Coyotes have to worry about that. But with 8 picks in the first two rounds this year, we could afford to give up a few of them and still be able to draft some pretty solid prospects (especially if we retain our own first-round pick). While BA may prefer to stay the course, I’ve got to think the Coyotes are in one of the better positions to land Eichel. Not to mention, it would be great for Wright or Bedard to not have to immediately become the team’s #1C…

Let’s hope for the perfect underachievement by Montreal as well by finishing with the 11th worst record in the league.
