So exciting to see Colorado and Montreal struggle given the picks we own…just need Montreal to play a little better so that we don’t get straddled with Carolinas pick.

2021-22 coyotes definitely have a shot at being the all time worst team.

Instead of rooting for Montreal to play better…we could root for Carolina to play worse…If colorado, montreal, and carolina all finish in the bottom 10…that’s 3 picks in the top 10 for the Coyotes. It’s my bold prediction for the season….that I doubt will actually come true.

One thing I loved about AZ Coyotes Insider was the comment section, a great and mostly civil public discourse. What has happened here, does no one want to participate? Craig, I know you addressed this topic yesterday with PHNX’s streamlining approval/posting of comments but what am I missing?

I think it’s because you have to scroll past the ads. Once people see those they figure there are no comments.

One can hope, but I think Carolinas pick is destined for mid twenties and Colorado for late 20s. So we really need that Montreal pick to be pick #11 🙂

Ran a hard workout before dawn this morning. 4 miles steady, then 2 miles hard and am now reading your great article right after, with the endorphin high, I always enjoy from hard athletic work and reminiscing about how thrilled I was to meet Coach Tippett 8 or 9 years ago at a meet and greet.
He didn’t want to be there as a matter of fact he told the STH ahead of me in the reception line that “ I’d rather be in my office preparing for the next game”… he saw how anxious I was to shake his hand and thank him for being responsible for my new found source of sport entertainment, particularly comparing it to the tedious but wonderful monotony of the sport I dedicated my life to, what a thrill it was back then.
Now that I’ve sold my first two tickets on my STH, something I thought I’d never do, it would be nice to get that enthusiasm back … nothing compared to those times and was such a great diversion from the pounding, anonymous tedium of mile after mile.
Thanks for the great article and the flashback to better times.

The Red Wings a couple of seasons ago won 17 games in the 70 game pandemic shortened season, let’s round up and say 19 wins in an 82 game season. I feel like that is the Coyotes benchmark this season to avoid being the worst team of this century.

After an easy 5-1 victory, it is still obvious that Tippett can’t coach high-end offense (#sarcasmfont for Craig)

The team has virtually no high end talent.

Outside of Chychrun there is no one else that fits that definition. Our 1st line is a 2nd line and the rest of the team are bottom 6 players.

The will is there but the skill eventually takes over when players start to get tired and either wait a second too long or drift away from their responsibilities.

In the won’t happen but fun to think about is there a team more set up to trade for Eichel than the Yotes?? Tons of picks and they have the cap room with little needing to go back and 16 UFA’s this year could retool quickly.
