Very good interview
I’m a little surprised about Tucson.
I thought things were going pretty good down there.
This is the first that I’ve caught on about a considered move.
I thought I read everything! I missed that!
One winner in all this is certainly ASU.
Can you imagine what the NHL add on to this facility will do for recruiting?
What kid wouldn’t want to play in a facility like that.
Of course, after the Coyotes leave the university will take the new facility away and make it a fine arts center or something so, Coach Powers make sure that dosent happen ( ha)
Ticketing will be interesting.
On the one hand it would be great if they could sell 5000 season tickets.. BUT, if they do that, that means a limited group that gets to experience all this.
They may just go with game night seating every game and use the suites and loges as season ticket purchases.
The idea is to expose the most people possible to a game night experience ( looking ahead to future season ticket sales)
At the same time you have to not make fans angry who do like to go to every game ( I did for years)
How about ticket packages?

Also it is important that Mr. Gutierrez figure out a way to carry Coyote games somehow on cable TV
I don’t know how many “ fans in waiting” are missing the games but there has to be a large number.
I know I haven’t seen the Coyotes on TV since 2017 or 18 being contracted with DISH.

I didn’t realize the Roadrunners were in trouble. But if they have to move, there is a nice rink in Prescott Valley that would work.

When the lease is up and when (if) the new arena is built the Roadrunners should absolutely be a tenant in the newly built arena for the Yotes. Makes too much sense to have all the AHL/NHL athletes in the same environment. Leafs/Marlies a good example

Looks like $100+ pricing on average based on the comments from Xavier.

As a season ticket holder and a disabled person, what type of accommodations are there for chair bound individuals?

Oh man I hate that response about tickets, specifically: “what we’re projecting is not materially different from the rest of the NHL’s premium seating.”

I think pricing out lower-income fans who can’t pay premium seating prices is a huge mistake, and runs counter to the club’s PR moves centered on making hockey accessible to everyone. How many lower-income families can spend ~$500 to go to a game together, never mind attend multiple games to actually grow a local support base? And that’s before factoring in the scarcity premium, which will likely send resale prices higher than face value.

Perhaps I’m biased by my own experience, but it’s not the prawn sandwich brigade in the executive suites that will be creating the intimidating, turbulent, exciting atmosphere that is being sold to fans. It’s the everyday folk who still wear their original Tkachuk jersey, park in the furthest away parking lot and for whom attending a game is a passion, not a corporate event.

As a suggestion, ring-fence 1,000 tickets per game as affordable (MAX $50) split 75:25 pre-game ballot and on-the-day first come first served, with no option for resale to stop ticket scalping. Think of any lost revenue as a PR expense and promote hockey for everyone with actions not words.

If they continue to field the same quality team the next couple seasons resale will be easy and cheap.

We were out of town and had to sell our Leafs and Lightning tix about 20 row up behind Yotes net in 1st/3rd and got under 40 each time. It will look like early round us open at Arthur Ashe some days.

Based upon an email that I got today, it looks like if you have an account with the Coyotes where you deposit money in from time to time saving up for the next year, you will not get your money back.
I had just a little over half of what next years season ticket would have chose ( premium seat) and the email said, I had to use it this year or by April 1st, it would go to the Foundation.
I can only use it to buy more tickets this year or maybe a lot of hats from The Den?
I told them I wanted the money back and I’d consider buying another season ticket somewhere down the line.
I hope I misunderstood the email.

[…] A terrific breakdown of the Arizona Coyotes-to-ASU situation. “What people need to realize is that every seat is a lower-bowl seat. You only have 13 rows. So when you think of the price points of lower-bowl seats across the NHL, across live sports, we’re not going to be that far off from what people are used to paying for that closeness to the rink, to the ice and to the players.” […]
