The Phoenix Mercury came into this season with questions-galore about their roster, among many other things. In that, they’ve established a culture, identity, and foundation that’s enabled them near seamless navigation of adversity in the form of injury through the first third of the season.
Faced with yet another round adversity, operating without Satou Sabally as well as Kahleah Copper, while welcoming the Minnesota Lynx into PHX Arena, the Mercury… again… rose to the occasion and simply found a way to win. On the back of Alyssa Thomas’ MVP-level performance, a 29 point (a career-high), 8 rebound, 5 assist, 2 steal effort, the Mercury would stamp ANOTHER signature, season-best, style win — one that firmly places them in 2nd place in the WNBA with a record of 14-6.
Stephen PridGeon-Garner is here to recap this significant win, and breakdown both how the team garnered it as well as what it entails for them going forward on the latest episode of PHNX Mercury!
