Arizona ROBBED BY REFS vs. BYU As Late Bailout Whistle Loses It For Wildcats

In what was an extremely entertaining back-and-forth basketball game, the show was stolen by referee Tony Padilla, who blew his whistle on Trey Townsend with 3 seconds left in the game. BYU’s leading scorer Richie Saunders nailed both free throws to lead BYU to the win, 96-95 in McKale Center. The Wildcats drop their third home game of the season, this time in tragic fashion. Caleb Love showed out tonight, scoring a game-high 27 points and nailing four 3-pointers, including one late, but was robbed of an and-one foul by the aforementioned Padilla in what turned out to be a game-changing call. On the one hand, Arizona showed offensive prowess Wildcats fans haven’t seen all season, but it came in the team’s worst defensive output in some time. Can Tommy Lloyd right the ship headed into the final stretch of Big 12 Conference play? Is a heated BYU-Arizona rivalry brewing?
