Arizona’s Becky Burke was tasked with complete roster reconstruction after being hired as head coach. Adia Barnes departed for SMU and after that players transferred out leaving one player on the roster. Even before Barnes moved on, Jada Williams, Breya Cunningham, and Lauryn Swann all chose to enter the portal. Burke has begun the hard work of replacing the immense talent of those 3 players.
The Wildcats were able to secure Horizon player of the year Mickayla Perdue, Virginia guard Kamryn Kitchen, and Memphis guard Tanyuel Welch. Burke is also building her staff out as well, bringing back Julie Brase-Hairgrove to be an assistant coach. Brase-Hairgrove is the grand-daughter of Lute Olson, a former Wildcats wbb player, and WNBA assistant coach. Is Burke showing early signs of success this offseason?
