First off, an apology because you're reading the January edition of the monthly mailbag on Feb. 1. It's been one helluva week.

Anyway, I woke up this morning to a text from my wife's aunt with three rabbits on it and no words. The three of us have been exchanging these texts for years.

If you're not familiar with this superstition, you're supposed to say the words "rabbit, rabbit, rabbit" out loud upon waking on the first day of a month. It's supposed to ensure good luck for the rest of that month.

I'm not one for superstitions and I often forget to do this, but I remembered as soon as I woke up today and then I checked my phone and saw the rabbits.
