What a dream.
The greatest thing about being a conservative and a capitalist to the nth degree is that I always dreamed of a place that looked like your buddies place.
When I met my wife ( our 27th anniversary would have been today) she was working the drive through at Wendy’s, I told her I was gonna take her away from that shit…that was my quote.
Our first date I picked her up at her one room apartment and there was this fat guy with tatoos all over his body puking into the gutter.
I stepped around him and walked up, knocked on her door and all she had was a bed, a music box, a desk and a parakeet ( as I type this a text just pops up with a picture of the two dozen roses I sent to her grave.. true story)
I told her, “ things are about to change for you”
I did buy her the biggest house in Oolitic Indiana, both of us saved, invested, went over our portfolio every few months, gave each other a high five and waited…
I was gonna get her in one of those places….
I did get her out to Arizona, after the GBM diagnosis to punch that ticket although I’m not sure that she ever knew it.
We woulda made it. I woulda got her your friends apartment.
She would have gone from the Wendy’s drive through and I would have gone from getting kicked out of my house at 17 and sittin at the Greyhound bus station to that apartment.
