I liked Ilya. I wish him well.

Curious if Nick Ritchie will show some life in the Yotes lineup. He was a liability in Toronto. Maybe we will see another Ghost type story and he finds his game here. I wish Boosh well, always liked him.

If they can get an asset for Ritchie alone, or in a package at next year’s deadline, all the better, but this trade was about acquiring another high draft pick.

Hard to even think about the 2025 draft, but Billy is doing a great job in aquiring assets.

I liked Ilya a lot. But this was his worst year as a Coyote. He got away from his simple game and tried to do too much which led to more defensive gaffes than usual. If he gets back to keeping it simple, he should have success in Toronto.

That said, the first thing I thought of when the trade was announced was his superfan Craig wrote an article about last year. She must be crushed…

Ilya was a great guy. I think part of his struggle this season was having to take on more tough matchups with veterans Alex Goligoski, Niklas Hjalmarsson, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Jason Demers all gone.

Ilya was a great team member and fan favorite. Hate to see him go, but wish him only the best. Another reason to root for the Leafs in the playoffs (Wow! Never thought I would here myself say that). Now, can we just skip the rest of the season and get to the draft??
