Outstanding article Craig as usual.
The morning of the first game.
My entire life has been nothing but sports. Mostly training for then competing in them.
I haven’t even been to a movie theater since the 60’s.
Nuthin’ but training for and playing sports.
I hope the best for the Coyotes. Although I sold my tickets last year, I’ve been a STH for at least 10 years.
No other sport that I have ever attended even comes close to Coyotes hockey in excitement.
I hope the new arena comes through.
The only thing I’m NOT looking forward to attending games again?
Since social separation and masking, I haven’t had one cold or flu.
In the years I attended every YOTES game, four or five times a year, I had something.
Here we go again! Lets go YOTES.

Thanks for all the insight Craig, I’m excited to watch on TV tonight. I am however deeply offended at your recent suggestion that world hunger is a larger issue than the visiting team spaces at Mullet Arena. I have lost sleeping knowing millionaires in their 20’s will be forced to use a large community rink as their room for one game.

My bad. I should have realized this.

I have been around hockey as a player, coach or fan for most of my 70+ years. From my perspective it has always been a we not I sport populated by very few prima donna types. If the sport is now at a point where players are complaining about having to dress on a bench instead of a padded chair (or whatever), I am going to very surprised. And disappointed. If the ice and lighting are good, I hope there will be no player complaints. The outside noise is something else but coming mostly from people who just like to create noise so who cares. I’m excited to watch the game tonight. Should be fun.

Great article Craig. Why can’t everyone focus on the positives of Mullet Arena and see that the Coyotes and NHL are going above and beyond to make this work. This is just one step of many to make the Coyotes important in this town. Maybe even the local news stations will give some serious coverage.

It’s fair to point out the drawbacks, but it’s important to offer balanced reporting & perspective.

Sorry, I do have a beef. It may not have been in the teams control, but I think it was a mistake not to have the home opener broadcast on the local partner. A lot of us will not be able to make it to the game because of the price. This will be the first home opener I have missed since I have been here. To me it just adds insult to injury to make us pay extra to watch on TV. Makes it seem like they don’t care about the average fan. Again it may not have been in the teams control, but if it was it just adds to the misrepresentation and fan uncertainty this team constantly faces.

It was not their decision to make. ESPN is the national rights holder. They choose their games. That’s big money for the NHL; nothing the Coyotes could do.

Totally agree, and the ESPN crew was horrible. Buccigross called them the Cardinals during the introduction, Boucher called them Phoenix about a half-dozen times, and the underhanded slights at the team were unnecessary.
On a positive note, it was pretty amazing to see Josh Doan and his Dad drop the puck together, and for Fish to get the first goal at Mullett.

I am sick of reading the garbage on The Athletic about the Coyotes, Mullett, Quebec City, etc. I am so glad that I also subscribe here to get objective views.

(Oh, did I mention that I also quit Twitter yesterday? This is my sole source for Coyotes news since the Republic is a joke.)

Craig, nice job on Marek’s show today. I find the tone on things very different on that compared to 32 Thoughts. Gotta toss the red meat to the wolves I guess, definitely a more local vibe and persona.

I was unaware that they had discussed having the visiting team use the locker room. Finding a way to have worked that out would have been a big win for these 4.
