Depending upon the seriousness of Capo and Hayton’s injuries, I could see them both starting the year on IR (maybe Phil too?), which allows the Yotes to keep a couple other players here for an extended look before sending them down to Tucson.

It’s going to be a tough call in every position for the remaining spots. I’d like to see Boyd at center, I like Ladd on wing, I don’t think anyone is ready at defense and I’d like to see Prosvetov in Tucson. Whenever possible I’d like to see own prospects at least start in Tucson with enough ice time to learn the north American game and/or fully recover from injuries. The Coyotes tend to rush both development and recovery time for players as well as having them play while injured. It delays their recovery, diminishes their effectiveness and devalues their play and/or trade value.
