There was a time when the NHL and Guy Lafleur were in Québec.

Slightly confused about your playoffs. You talk about 5 division winners but there are 8 divisions. Sorry, but 3 of you division winners just don’t rate?

lol. Sorry, Rob. That’s because one of my changes did not save.
I have updated it so that it make sense.
Sorry, insane weekend between hosting my niece’s wedding shower and move-in day for my daughter at school.

Craig, you mentioned San Diego, but left it out of your proposed 40-team setup. Which of the Expansion 8 cities would San Diego replace to make the “perfect” alignment — without sticking the Yotes back in the Central? BTW, I’ve also wondered why SD hasn’t been rumored as a Coyote relocation option since that beautiful metropolis now only has the Padres as a major league team. SD has a long hockey history with the AHL Gulls, of course, but not a great history of keeping big league franchises. It probably just comes down to the old arena?

It wasn’t showing up for some reason even though it’s in the form.
It should be there now.

How about a European league instead of a European division. The European league would still play NHL rules. they can make trades between the North American and European leagues. and for the draft have the North American teams draft North American players and the European league drafts European players. Playoffs would remain the same but the North American Champion would play the European Champion for a World Championship.
