How long is Assistant Coach Cory Stillman under contract?

If there is ANY truth that the NHL is seriously considering the ridiculous option of having the Coyotes play in Vegas, Denver and Quebec next season, I am convinced that they are truly building the Gov. William J. Le Petomane Thruway from Blazing Saddles – “What’ll those assholes think of next?” Just what everyone wants – an 82 game road schedule. At that point, the Coyotes should “just go back and get a shitload of dimes” (in the words of Mr. Taggart) and shuffle out of town.

Agreed that it is a ridiculous option.

Obviously this is COVID dependent but I wonder if all four AZ major professional teams will play in Mexico in the next two years (2022-23). Cards and Dbacks had Mexico games canceled in 2020, Yotes are hoping to get a game there and I’m sure the Suns would like to get back to Mexico.

As usual, I think STH’s of this team will take it on the chin.
The advantage of being loyal to the team through being a STH is meaningless when they won’t be playing at this arena anymore.
Wherever they go, if they stay in Arizona the all important foundation of a STH base will have to start all over.
If they play in multiple sites, tickets will have to be sold on a nightly game basis.
You gotta feel for the ticket reps. In a market like this they really work.. every single game.
In all the games I attended, only the two seats behind me were ever occupied by the same people multiple times.
I never, in 9 years sat next to the same person twice.
Every seat it seems has to be re-sold every game. What a job and hats off to the ticket sales folks.
Now, what STH’s there are will be gone.

Thanks Craig for all the work in last year!

I still remember those great Suns-Sonics playoffs from late 70s-Davis and Westphal vs Johnson and Williams (though I rooted for my beloved Sonics!). Vet Memorial was as good as it got for NBA. A quick look at calendar would suggest not much possibility of the Coyotes playing there in the fall. Too much design, too much permitting, too much $, too much construction, too little time. Given scope of project they need to get going now to get ready for 2023.

There are quick-fix options at the Coliseum. Temporary chillers could do the trick for a while.

Craig – Interesting. I would like to see an article from you about the “quick fix” options for the Coliseum – what is entailed for the minimum needed to get it ready for games to be played, and potential timeframes to get those things done. Would be enlightening. Thanks.

All good questions Craig. I’m confident that the Tempe city council will approve the proposal and the relocation rumors will finally be behind us!
