Diamondbacks general manager Mike Hazen

Saturday marked the eight-year anniversary of Mike Hazen's first trade as Diamondbacks general manager. It went down as one of the most fascinating trades in franchise history.
On Nov. 23, 2016, Hazen dealt outfielder Mitch Haniger, second baseman Jean Segura and left-handed reliever Zac Curtis to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for right-handed starter Taijuan Walker and shortstop Ketel Marte.
At the time, the headliners of the deal were Segura and Walker. Segura was coming off the best year of his career, in which he hit .319 with 20 homers and 33 stolen bases. Walker, a once highly-touted pitching prospect, posted a solid 4.22 ERA in 25 starts in 2016 and was still just 24 years old.
