Since being claimed off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds in 2017, Christian Walker has embodied what it means to be a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
He quickly blossomed into the best defender in the league at his position. He works counts. He takes walks. He just notched his third consecutive 25-homer season despite missing more than a month with an oblique injury. It is hard to imagine a Diamondbacks team that does not have him batting clean-up.
But with Walker slated to reach free agency in a few weeks, that could soon become reality. Walker will be highly coveted on the open market.
