Much like the big-league club, it's been an injury-plagued year for the Diamondbacks' farm system. The organization's top overall prospect, 22-year-old shortstop Jordan Lawlar, has had it about as bad as anyone.
Just days before the season began, Lawlar tore a ligament in his right thumb. It required surgery, and he missed more than two months. When Lawlar was activated by Triple-A Reno on June 11, he played only four games before sustaining a hamstring injury while legging out a triple.
Diamondbacks shortstop prospect Jordan Lawlar was lifted for a pinch runner after tying tonight’s Triple-A Reno game with this two-run triple.
