Diamondbacks top shortstop prospect Jordan Lawlar is a candidate to be called up in the coming days.

LOS ANGELES — Just over two weeks ago, the Diamondbacks looked dead in the water. They had lost 25 of 32 games. They were three games back of the third wild card spot. Their playoff odds, according to FanGraphs, plummeted from as high as 80.4 percent in mid-June to 13.4 percent on Aug. 11.

Even after a loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday, the Diamondbacks' playoff odds are now greater than 50 percent. Officially, the number is 50.6 percent. It is amazing what a 12-4 stretch can do.
