Dismal attacking performance sees Phoenix Rising fail to put a single shot on target vs. Lexington

It wasn’t great. It really, really wasn’t great.

On a hot Fourth of July Fourth, Pa-Modou Kah’s Phoenix Rising side set out to take on expansion club Lexington SC, but came out with a 1-0 loss.

Starting a front line of Dariusz Formella, Jearl Margaritha and Charlie Dennis, the club couldn’t find a way to test the visitor’s goalkeeper with a shot on target even once.

That marks the second time in all competitions Rising has done that this season, which hadn’t happened previously since 2016.

Now, it’s time to bounce back. Next up is a trip to the Coliseum for the first time, where they will face an Oakland Roots side featuring in-form ex-Rising player Panos Armenakas.

Can Phoenix Rising turn things around after a string of questionable results?
