Eight former ASU football players will participate in the upcoming NFL Scouting Combine. The Sun Devils’ eight invitations are the most for any Pac-12 school in 2022.

The program’s eight invitations make up a fourth of all the Pac-12 invitations this season. The combine is an opportunity for some of college football’s best NFL draftable prospects to compete in drills, interviews and other tests to help their draft stock.

Here are the eight Sun Devils who were invited to the NFL combine:

RB Rachaad White

White was touted as arguably the most talented player on ASU’s offense in 2021. He had 1,006 yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground last season. White scored the most rushing touchdowns by a Sun Devil since Eno Benjamin’s 2018 season (16).

LB Darien Butler

The stalwart of the ASU defense for the last couple seasons, Butler was named a semifinalist for the Butkus Award, an honor given to the nation’s top linebacker. He recorded 68 total tackles, three interceptions and two sacks last season.

DT D.J. Davidson

Davidson is listed at 6 feet 5, 325 pounds. He proved to be a true force on the ASU defensive line when he got his opportunity. While his numbers (57 total tacks, half a sack, a fumble recovery and four passes defensed) may not show a player worthy of an early draft pick, his size and consistent production will get him several looks.

OT Kellen Diesch

Diesch measures out at a whopping 6 feet 7, 300 pounds. He could have been drafted in 2020 if not for his decision to play one more season at ASU. The Texas native could be one of the first Sun Devils off the board.

C Dohnovan West

The former ASU center missed the team’s bowl game due to surgery. Over his career with Sun Devil football, West proved to be versatile enough to switch between guard and center. He graded out as one of the best players on the Sun Devil roster in 2021 by Pro Football Focus at No. 80 on the Big Board.

TE Curtis Hodges

Hodges had 373 receiving yards on 20 catches in 2021. His numbers do not jump off the page, but his 6-feet-8 inch frame does. This past season was the first for the Arizona native (Mesa Mountain View) where he caught more than five passes.

DB Jack Jones

At 5 feet 10, Jones is a somewhat small cornerback. Even so, he found a way to pack a punch in 2021. He forced three fumbles, recorded three interceptions and scored one touchdown. He proved to be a cornerstone for Sun Devil football’s defense last year.

DB Chase Lucas

The Chandler High School product was once thought of as a first-round cornerback. However, Lucas’ numbers have been on the decline since 2018. He’s got one interception over the past three seasons. Nevertheless, his athleticism should be on full display during the combine.
