There are rarely any quiet days at the beginning of the NBA offseason and the Phoenix Suns and the rest of the Western Conference were reminded of that less than 24 hours after the end of the NBA Draft.

How Suns, Western Conference Are Impacted By Wolves Trade

Thursday morning, the Minnesota Timberwolves made a massive splash by motioning to acquire Charlotte Hornets star guard LaMelo Ball as part of a large multi-team deal.

Just last season, the Timberwolves finished with 49 wins and finished four games ahead of the Suns in the West standings. They’ve now parted ways with Julius Randle and Naz Reid with Ball coming in to form a backcourt pairing with draft classmate Anthony Edwards.

The landscape of the Western Conference has shifted and the Suns are now facing more questions about their approach and focus on continuity this offseason while other teams make big moves to improve.
