Juan Guerra, MLS’ Houston Dynamo come to town

It’s the return of the man who gave Phoenix Rising the star above their crest.

Now an assistant coach, Juan Guerra returns to the Valley with his Houston Dynamo team looking to knock Rising out of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

It’ll be a tough one for Phoenix — no Rising team has ever beaten a Major League Soccer squad in competitive play — and they’ll have to do so without star Jearl Margaritha, captain Pape Mar Boye, suspended striker Rémi Cabral and cup-tied loanee Ascel Essengue.
