In his age-36 season, Kevin Durant is being optimized in ways he hasn't experienced since the Golden State Warriors. From crunch-time dominance to embracing Mike Budenholzer's 3-point heavy approach, KD is playing at otherworldly levels while smoothly integrating with an offense that's shown flashes of a higher ceiling.
It's too early to be making any MVP declarations, but at this early juncture, Kevin Durant would have to be one of the top candidates (if not the top). Through eight games, he's averaging 27.3 points per game (eighth in the NBA), along with 6.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.4 blocks for a Phoenix Suns team that's now 7-1.
