Phoenix Rising set to kick off Jägermeister Cup campaign

It’s a new tournament, but a familiar opponent. Phoenix Rising will take part in the Jägermeister Cup for the first time in club history, as the competition expands to include USL Championship teams.

In their first group game, Pa-Modou Kah’s side will take on San Antonio FC. Last time these sides met, Rising won 2-1 on network television thanks to goals from Rémi Cabral and Jearl Margaritha, as the Texan side went without Mitchell Taintor.

But can Rising find a way to repeat that success, and get off to a good start in the group stage?
