The Phoenix Suns couldn’t get the job done in the 7-8 Play-In Tournament game, blowing a late-game lead to the Portland Trail Blazers.
Suns collapse, suffer heartbreak to blazers in play-in
Despite leading by 11 points in the fourth, Phoenix fell, 114-110, and will have just one more shot to advance to the NBA Playoffs.
With the win, the Blazers will move on to face the Spurs in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. Phoenix now awaits the winner of Wednesday’s game between the LA Clippers and Golden State Warriors, and the two teams will face off on Friday for a chance to face the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Suns were led by 35 points from Jalen Green while Devin Booker added 22 points on 7-of-17 shooting from the field. For the Trail Blazers, it was Deni Avdija who led the way, scoring a game-high 41 points, including the bucket that put his team up for good.
