Led by NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson, the Knicks went on one of the more impressive title runs, finishing the postseason with a 16-3 record after eliminating the San Antonio Spurs, 4-1, to win the title.

A closer look shows that Brunson’s numbers are eerily similar to those of Devin Booker’s, and the two All-Star guards are the same age. Can the Suns try to build a similar team around their prolific leader?

With its championship win, New York snapped a 53-year championship drought. Phoenix, on the other hand, has come up short three times but has never reached the mountaintop in its existence.

Given the parallels between the franchise’s respective stars, it should not get lost on fans that it is indeed possible to overcome a history of misfortune in a similar manner.
