With NBA All-Star Weekend in the rearview, the focus shifts to the final stretch of the 2025-26 season. For the Phoenix Suns, that means the playoff push intensifies.
The break couldn’t have come at a better time for the Suns, who stumbled to begin February. Phoenix has lost four of its first six games in the month, and the team appeared to hit a wall while navigating injuries to Devin Booker and Jalen Green, among others.
Despite that rough stretch, the Suns come out of the break with a 32-23 record and sit within two games of a top-four seed in the Western Conference.
At All-Star Weekend, Booker looked to be in good health. He fell just shy of a win in the 3-Point Contest Saturday before finishing with 12 points, nine rebounds and eight assists during his team’s win in the All-Star Game mini-tournament Sunday. He’ll look to carry that momentum into the second half of the season, especially considering some of the shooting woes that plagued him during his first 43 games.
Also helping matters for the Suns are the reinforcements who have been added — the team bolstered its wing rotation by acquiring Amir Coffey at the trade deadline and reaching an agreement with free agent Haywood Highsmith during the All-Star break.

They’ll come out of the break refreshed and with added depth, two things that could help them move up in the standings and in the minds of the NBA public.
With respect to the NBA world, the Suns’ recent slump has been acknowledged by most writers in their latest iterations of league-wide power rankings. To take stock of where the team currently sits, PHNX Suns looks at Phoenix’s place among recent NBA power rankings.
Suns power rankings 2026

Highest rank: 10
Lowest rank: 12
Phoenix’s recent slide to open the month of February has caused many to sour on them, if only temporarily.
After the Suns’ run as a consensus top-10 team in earlier iterations of league-wide power rankings, a few experts have moved them outside of the top 10. There’s very little variance as the team is regarded somewhere between 10th and 12th…
Tim Cato, ALLCITY NBA
Cato’s most recent power rankings, a trade deadline retrospective, were published on Feb. 9.
Suns rank: 10
Cato: “Phoenix’s moves were salary ones around the edges. That’s fine. This season has been found gold for the Suns, anyway, and keeping it going as best they can will be a success.”
John Schuhmann, NBA.com
Schuhmann’s latest power rankings were published on Feb. 17.
Suns rank: 10
Schuhmann: “The Suns are one of five teams with a league-high seven back-to-backs left on their schedule, and the first is Saturday and Sunday, when they’ll host the Magic and Blazers. That’s the start of a stretch where they’re playing seven of eight games at home.”
Ben Rohrback, Yahoo! Sports
Rohrback’s latest power rankings were published on Feb. 17.
Suns rank: 10
“‘I don’t think we ever had what expectations are supposed to look like,’ said coach Jordan Ott, whose Suns continue to overachieve, even despite the absences of Jalen Green and Devin Booker.”

Law Murray, The Athletic
Murray’s latest power rankings were published on Feb. 16.
Suns rank: 12
Murray: “Devin Booker was the only member of the winning Stars team born in the 1990s, and this was his last All-Star Game of his 20s. He wound up playing a role that is close to how he was playing for the Suns in November, finishing with eight assists in 28 minutes.“
ESPN NBA Insiders
ESPN’s latest power rankings, a collaborative trade-deadline lookback from their NBA insiders, were published on Feb. 11.
Suns rank: 12
ESPN moved Suns the down two spots from their previous ranking, with a brief blurb from Dave McMenamin focusing on the deadline acquisition of Cole Anthony. That said, Anthony is not expected to report to the team and will not contribute in the ways that were reported.
