The Phoenix Suns squandered a 14-point fourth-quarter lead to suffer an uncharacteristic 101-97 loss to a shorthanded Golden State Warriors team on Thursday.
Suns collapse as Warriors escape Phoenix with win
While Phoenix was without Devin Booker and Jalen Green, Golden State was without Jimmy Butler, Stephen Curry and a host of other players involved in its trade deadline movement.
Pat Spencer led the Warriors with 20 points, Gui Santos added 18 and De’Anthony Melton added 17 points, including the late layup to put the Warriors up for good. For the Suns, Dillon Brooks scored a game-high 24 points and Grayson Allen added 21 points before exiting early after an awkward landing.
