The Phoenix Suns wanted to get at least one point guard in free agency over the summer, but even after signing Monte Morris, landing Tyus Jones on a veteran minimum contract was too good a bargain to pass up.
So the Suns sacrificed size in their starting lineup for a floor general who could set the table for their Big 3, keep the offense organized and cut down on Phoenix's untenable turnover problem. And so far, it's working: Tyus Jones is once again leading all qualified players in assist-to-turnover ratio (6.62), and the Suns have gone from being the sixth-worst team in the NBA in turnovers last year to ninth-best so far this year.
