Turf wars: Vegas, Utah battle for vacant Valley NHL market

The Vegas Golden Knights are coming to the Valley. The Utah Hockey Club will be soon.
Until the Valley gets an NHL team back, it will have to get used to this awkward arrangement.
As part of the team’s outreach efforts in its newest television territory, Vegas will host a pair of free one-hour, on-ice clinics at 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. at AZ Ice Gilbert for children ages 5 to 12 (registration is full). The team will also host a watch party at Park Tavern & Market adjacent to the arena when the Golden Knights play the Florida Panthers at 3 p.m.
And on Sunday at 10 a.m., the team will host a free ball hockey clinic at Chicanos Por La Causa Community Center in Phoenix.
